To close out 2020, CareValidate ran a short survey across social media channels to gauge what workers across America want from their employers as they continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope these insights will make employee needs and wants a priority as the country continues to grapple with COVID-19.
The majority of our respondents who are currently working from home said that they would prefer to be working from an office if there were stricter safety guidelines in place. Such suggested safety guidelines included the introduction of new protocols- increased cleaning standards, daily health checks, and enforcement of state protocols already in place, like the requirement of customers wearing masks. Some respondents additionally touched on the need for better communication between employers and staff regarding new COVID-19 rules, positive COVID-19 cases and the enforcement of company policies.
The most cited employee concern was rooted in potentially spreading COVID-19 to friends, family and those who were at high risk. The second most noted concern was financial concerns due to missing shifts or the closure of companies (temporarily or permanently).
Despite these concerns, 65.5% of respondents are ‘satisfied’ or ‘highly satisfied’ with how their employer has handled COVID-19 in the workplace and 67.8% of respondents have felt safe carrying out their roles during the pandemic.
As our fears of a COVID-19 dominated 2021 are quickly becoming a reality, getting workers back to work safely is imperative. Care360 makes it easy to return to the workplace with daily health checks, integrated testing and simple, automated COVID-19 communication.
